Scared to get type 1 diabetes

So I've had this fear before but it went away until I started reading about how type 1 diabetes can't be prevented and is not related to your health. I can't get over this anxiety as my dad has type 2 diabetes and that means I have a higher chance. Any tips for getting this off my mind I've always had a fear of going blind and this took the cake.

Type1 and 2 are totally different 2 mainly through diet type1 is what my son as and is nothing to do with food etc it's a auto immune disease
