Paroxetine withdrawal

Hi all,

Currently on week 2 of finishing Paroxetine. Was on 20mg, tapered down to 10mgs fine and stopped taking them 2 weeks ago. I hadn't appreciated how hellish the withdrawal process would be and I'm only on week 2, dizziness, brain zaps, loose bowel movements, anger and terrible insomnia.

Who has had similar experiences, how long did they last and how did you cope? I don't want to go back onto the medication and nor do I feel that I need to, but don't know how long I can tough it out for, the withdrawal proces is brutal.

For information I am taking 80mgs of propranolol daily.

How are you getting on dude? I'm 8 weeks into withdrawal and it's hell. I'm trying pregabalin (non ssri) and CBT to help with the symptoms - really hope it helps

It's a really tough medication to get off isn't it. I was on it for 10 years. After a couple of failed attempts I finally took my last dose in June this year but I started tapering the previous August. A very long slow taper seems the way to go.
