Venlafaxine

[Lost all hope]

Hi if started Venlafaxine about 3 weeks ago on lowest dose then 4 days ago started 75mg an I'm really struggling should I just keep going or stop them? What's everyone else been like on them?

Sorry to hear you're having a struggle. You really need to give the Ven more time, up to 6 weeks. Also you're on a pretty low dose so that could be altered.

I've just started venlafaxine as well, just over two weeks in. One week at 37.5 and then to 75. This morning was the first in ages I woke without anxiety so am now feeling hopeful. Don't reduce as it takes a few days for it to settle in. You may feel some small benefits in a week or so. Or at least a reduction of side effects. Hang in there!

It took me 3 months to feel the full effects but it has been a life saver. Give it time unless it becomes unbearable, in which case discuss it with your GP.
