Hi,

Does anyone have advice for dealing with withdrawal symptoms for Zoloft medication?

I reduced my medication for the first time in 4 - 5 years over a week ago. There is a strong feeling of hopelessness and despair.

Thank you for your advice.

I was on 100mg Zoloft for 6 months. I recall cutting down by 25% every two weeks and that was it. Interestingly enough, other than a dodgy stomach while on it, I had no other side effects until I came off of it. That's when I had some brain zaps, dizziness/shakiness and disassociation feelings but they didn't last long, a couple of weeks at best.

I imagine that after 4-5 years, your side effects will be more pronounced. You might want to discuss this with your doctor if you haven't done so already. They may be able to give you something to help with the transition off of it.
