My boyfriend is 40 years old, former smoker and occasional (sometimes fairly heavy) drinker.
I've noticed his resting heart rate is fairly fast (I'd say it's 80-90bpm but I can't say for sure). Is this something to worry about? He doesn't complain about it or anything but I'm a worrier so wanted to check. It's not rapid but it is noticeably faster than mine.
His heart rate is very consistent - it doesn't go up and down when resting, and though it probably goes over 100bpm with standard exercise I don't think it stays that elevated long.
Any advice, including tips on how to lower his heart rate, would be much appreciated!
