Hi all has anyone tried reiki. Read so much about it but never talked to someone who has experienced. I do know you have to ensure they have to be genuine.

Some people swear by it. I've had a wee bit done on me once when I was doing massage training and it felt amazing. Just get someone who has been recommended.

It's a kind of energy healing where the person puts their hands on you, but not actually touching, and they channel healing energy. It really does work. On of my friends in massage training had done some reiki training and did some on me and it felt wonderful!

Here's a definition which is better than I said it:

'a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.'

When my friend did it she didn't actually touch but her hands were very close and you can feel the energy going between your body and their hands.

Hi.

I've been trying Reiki recently. It means universal life giving energy and originates from Japan. I find it very relaxing during the therapy. Its a bit like medication in some ways; everyone reacts to it differently. It seems to help my memory afterwards, makes me look at the world differently and helps me deal with stuff from the past. Hypnotherapy has a similar effect on me. In my opinion it can be very powerful.
