Okay so I'm not actually "worried" about this I'd just like some advice really.

Long story short, my boyfriends grandfather was meant to go into surgery yesterday for a Lung cancer operation, last minute they called it off as they discovered he had shingles. (Bloody typical) he was sent home and told it would be re-booked for two weeks time.

We are going to see him today and I was wondering if this is ok? I know shingles isn't contagious but I know you can catch chicken pox from it, I have actually had chicken pox before when I was a toddler but is there a big risk you can catch it again? the internet was abit sketchy about this and I know some people can get it more than once but I'm thinking this is quite rare?

Really rare! It would be highly unlikely and you would have a fair amount of immunity as the virus never leaves your body and lives in the nerves dormantly xx
