In the past i have had some rib pain but not as bad as the past few days. Admitedly I have done more exercise in the past few days than for a while for e.g i did 2 sessions of football in the past week and some cycling yesterday but i am worried as my rubs hurt like sharp stabbing pains in different spots aswell as my arms in the same spot on both arms but me and my friends did a bit of climbing on a climbing wall. I am worried as i stumbled on a forum which said that people with neuro degenarative diseases often get rib pains and also i get out of breathe quite easily which also worries me any ideas?

One just doesn't "stumble" onto a neuro-degenerative disease forum :lac:

My SO had some symptoms similar to what you describe. The origin of that pain (she's anxious, just like I am, so she thought of lung cancer first (smokes!)) turned out to be her back. Conservative medicine couldn't help her though, she had seen her GP, a lung specialist and a neurologist. They all told her she's fine, however the pain persisted. Osteopathy did the trick however. Generally speaking, most doctors told her that almost all chest pain originates from the back in one way or the other.

I did also have lower back pain on the left and the right for the past few days which made it difficult to sit normally on a chair but i used to have it a lot before so not having this for a while was a reduction in occurance

its just before i was also worried about lung cancer and when i read about intercostal muscles aching the worry went away but now i am worried about ALS i link the symptoms to this and so am really worried about my chest as the thing i used to stop myself worrying has become the thing making me worry as i read someone with als talk about pain in their intercostal muscles. I also read that the person sat slumped which i do often which worried me

I suffered horrendously with rib pain etc and it was costochondritis, very likely compared to what you are describing. Posture is a big factor too, ALS is not normally characterised with rib pain initially I don't believe x

I pulled my intercostal muscles back in January and convinced myself it was my liver causing the pain. It took a good few weeks to heal and even now if I lift or twist wrong it hurts. My dr told me my anxiety was making it worse and she was right I was so worried I was tensing up and before it got better my back and shoulder started to hurt. Try to relax and take it easy for a few days these muscles work 24 hours a day so they will take a little while to heal. I found a hot water bottle really helped in the evenings
