It's not so much tiredness causes anxiety, it's the thoughts attached to the tiredness because fatigue is a symptom of a serious illness. So an anxious person can be triggered to panic about feeling tired if they start convincing themselves the fatigue is a sign of something serious instead of a bad nights sleep. Been there, done that. I've found you can get anxious about any weird feeling. As an anxious person too tuned into what my body is doing, I don't like feeling weird and tiredness feels weird for me now and I think tiredness = likely to faint. It's never happened and likely never will, but that's the nature of anxiety. Worrying about what's never happened and linking innocuous feelings to "what if?" worst case scenarios.
