I started taking this med last year 50 mg three times aday and although my morning anxiety was really bad my days were OK ish and able to deal with it ,

Had a bit of a crash in March this year and was put up to 250 mg , 50 in morning and 100 lunch time and 100 before bed , been on this dose for 3 months now with no real change ( mornings are by far my worst time ) and just happy to make it through the day

Should I go up again or admit defeat ???

I also take citalipram 40 mg for depression and 200 mg of quetiapine for sleep disorder , ( this was put up at same time )

Any advice would be great please

Hi Tristan,

If you feel pregabalin has been helpful but not enough (and side effects aren't a problem), I'd consider a dose increase to around 400 mg per day. Good luck.

How will going up help if it's not helping now ?

Maybe that you need a higher dose to combat the anxiety. Mind meds are not massively scientific unfortunately, and some people need higher doeses to get a benefit

Don't increase your dose based on advice from a forum. Speak to your doctor.

sorry, I presumed you had spoke to your doctor, didn't mean to advise you to change dose without talking first.

TRISTAN

I went to my local priory so £300 for an assessment and £150 for follow-up and £100 for each therapy session.

I know it's pricey but it's not like I can spend my money on life right now. I need to get better asap

I was same, though must be cheaper at our priory, £200 for initial assessment then £100 follow up. was the only way i could get prescribed pregabalin

Just feel really exhausted and have no energy , can't calm down and relax , worried I might loose my job as being off sick makes me worry more , sleeping far to much and my body has had enough , how long does it take to be seen if I go private ?

Sounds typical anxiety symptoms, that's how I feel when like this. Normally seen within the week if go private, that's how long took at my local priory for me anyway

I'm amazed by the difference in cost between NHS and private in the UK. Where I am at the moment (Japan), there is no private as such, just go to who you want - no referrals necessary for specialists, either. Insurance pays 70% of the cost, and you pay 30%.

And a priory - isn't that where monks live?

Hi Hanshan.Under a Care Plan I got 12 free sessions with a Psychologist,My health fund which I pay a bloody lot for I only got 2.
Might have to move to Japan,at the moment it is cheaper to fly there than it is to Sydney.

Priory is a chain of private psychiatric hospitals in the UK

So doctor has taken me off citalipram and quetiapine but left me on this for now and added duluxatine if that's how you spell it

Hi Tristan,

Good luck with the new combination. Duloxetine has been helpful for many, and has its own sub-forum on NMP. As with all these meds, it may take a while to settle in.

I wouldn't increase the pregabalin, unless you feel a short term boost might help you. It seems that you're only going to become tolerant to the new dose as you have to this one. If so, then it's back to square one. Just my £0.02.
