Just started taking propranolol 80mg

Will this help me with my acute anxiety by taking propranolol 80mg a day, how long approx for these tablets to start working,

It helps with the physical effects like a racing heart, sweating, shaking etc, but doesn't do anything to help with the anxious thoughts. Having said that though the first time I took it was fantastic because once the physical symptoms had disappeared I felt much more able to cope with the mental side of things. I still take 10mg when I'm feeling especially anxious because it does help take the edge off things.
