Well done for making the appointment, I lived (in my head) with HIV FOR 9 years!!! I then got the bottle up to get tested, only to find out that I had nothing at all wrong with me!!!
If you know what it is you can deal with it, if there is no "it" even better!!!!

Before this stomach stuff I thought I had breast cancer and lung cancer I was fine both times, just trying to remember that.

Good going! I'm sure all will be well :) Make sure to discuss your anxiety as well. As I believe your stomach issues are exasperated by stress, managing that will help manage the symptoms.

You will be fine, Beth. We should never worry about a doctor seeing us anxious, they are used to far more delicate things so will be understanding. And chances are, there will be other people anxious in the waiting room for various reasons, maybe some just like us on here?

It will soon be done and you will get some answers to help you with it.

Hopefully all will go well. Stress is one of the main causes of stomach issues. My mom tends to get upset stomachs on Monday mornings because she doesn't want to go to work lol. She actually went to the doctor about her stomach issues and they told her she needs to start relaxation techniques.

If you try and relax I'm sure you'll find your stomach issues go down.

Do you think you will be able to believe the GP if he says you are OK and it is all anxiety-related? I do hope you will be able to get help and support for your anxiety as well xx

Even if believing the medical professionals is an issue (and it often is), the key is getting real life support for your anxiety.

I have started to see a therapist, just 2 seasons but I have more set up. I am also on antidepressants they just upped them. So I am trying. Doing everything they say to do.

That's good to hear! :yesyes: It takes time and effort but it's worth it. I've watched my daughter take control back. She worked hard and it's paid off.

You are doing the very best you can to get better. It's a slow process with probable blips along the way but with your attitude you'll get there xx

Glad to hear this! Well not that you have IBS/GERD because that still sucks but that's all it is... And you get a well deserved good job for going to the doctor and a "Told ya so!" from me! :)

Well done for following it through. How did you feel through the experience? Will it help you for later visits?

At least now you know what it is, you can tackle it. Both are so commonly discussed on this forum, I'm sure some of the others will be able to help you. The IBS board certainly will.
