Hello,

Welcome to the board .

Glad your wedding went well and hope Michael is thriving .

Do share a bit more about yourself and your anxiety issues if you want to.

Thanks for the welcome messages people.

For those of you who have asked, I have a phobia, which I've posted in the Phobias forum.

I was looking for a name for it last night and found this site by accident, then I noticed the forum and thought I'd join up and see what its like.

I have a phobia of loud bangs, the closest I could find on the phobia list was ligyrophobia which is a fear of loud noises. It's affected me since I was small and as I get older, the worse I seem to get, especially as fireworks seem to be let off earlier and earlier each year now.

My work colleagues think it's hilarious when the office is decorated with balloons for celebrations as I get really worried.

I also had mild depression around a year ago but when the doctors put me on anti depressants, I started feeling suicidal. When I tried to cut my wrists I realised that something wasn't right and took myself straight off them.

I'm hoping to change jobs soon so that may take some of the pressure off me that I'm feeling as I'm no longer happy in my current job.

And one day I am going to conquer the phobia, I really need to get over it!
