I've had what felt like a throat infection for over two months now since late June and have been to numerous GPs and walk in A&Es because my own GP has said it's tonsillitis while the other walk in GPs have said it looks like a throat infection, but you need to get it investigated because all they see is throat redness and my tonsils look fine!!!!

I went to a private ENT specialist who found inflammatory mucus in my throat and oesophagus and said I need to have a lung function test and allergy tests to rule out asthma and allergies before further investigation needs to be done! I spent my own money seeing a private ENT specialist because my GP said it could take four months to see one on the NHS as she feels this is a Non-Emergency. What really got to me was at the end of the conservation she said "best of luck". She even refused to prescribe an inhaler!!!

In the mean time, I have been given a nasal spray for Post Nasal Drip which has helped, but every time I go out (and I live in Central London), when I get on the bus, my throat and airway starts blows up to the point where I CAN'T BREATHE!!! I also have a mild ache in my oesophagus.

This previously gave me chest tightness, but I recently found out, my chest tightness was because I've been stressed out with this "throat infection".

I don't know what to do now! I'm borrowing money from my parents who don't have much because I can't work and will have to make the tough decision to move back in with them. This has affected my life deeply, just when I started getting my life back together.

THIS IS NOT ANXIETY. I HAVE SOMETHING THAT IS LINGERING AND IT WON'T GO AWAY!!

What would you do in this situation? I don't have any more money to spend and I'm going to have to scrap up money to fly back to where my parents are living as they are living abroad. I have three months left on my rent that I already paid for, but if I leave this for three months and then go to my parents, what if this is an illness that needs to be diagnosed early on? If I leave it longer, will I have permanent damage or terminally ill damage to my health? No one has figured out what I have yet.

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I'M SO ALONE IN LONDON AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

I really feel, I don't want to say on this forum because it might not be legal, but that's how I feel right now!

Trying drinking straight lemon juice every day or mix it in with your water. It's really good for the throat and helps it heal.
