Hello,
I have severe agoraphobia and anxiety, much of which is perpetuated by health anxiety and I spent about 10 years trapped in my home. I am 25.
I have just starting taking small steps out of the house which I am really happy about.
I have had awful upper back pain and numbness for over a year so decided to get a referral to a back specialist and had to go to my appointment which was very difficult for me. I had an MRI and some back X-rays.
I saw my specialist for my results and they have found some lumps which they think are cysts which has completely freaked me out! I have to now go for a 2nd MRI with contrast injected... I never wanted to have another MRI as I got incredibly panicky during my scan even with the help of diazepam as I HATE small spaces! They want to check everything is ok and that they aren't pressing on nerves and are benign.
On top of that my dr rang me back later that day after my appointment and said he wanted me back in for a chest X-ray too because they found fluid in my lungs... I don't have any explanations why this could be, so now on top of panicking about the cysts on my back I am also completely petrified about the fluid in my lungs and it's started to set me back with my health anxiety! I stupid;y googled fluid in the lungs and it's all coming back with horrific things such as lung cancer, heart failure, blood clots... and these are all my worst fears to have an illness.
Has anyone had either cysts on their spine?
Or more so has anyone had fluid in their lungs that's been the result of something harmless?
I know I can't get a diagnosis obviously, but it would be nice to hear from others with anxiety right now as I am really very nervous.
I am so scared :'(
