View Full Version : Vision disturbances - ha = brain tumor
Hey
My visual issues have gotten a lot worse over the past few weeks, I currently am seeing what I can only describe as static like vision or visual snow, I am getting random sparks/specs of light as well.
My worry is always a brain tumor but I have been thinking I have one now for 4 years and had a clear head CT scan at the start of this year.
Our sight is so precious, why aren't you ginger to an Opthamologist?
I have been under eye specialists as I have keratoconus and an alternate squint but these symptoms are not linked with those conditions, last time I was checked there was no eye abnormalities found
That's great do you know it's not your eyes.
The CT scan let's you know it's not your brain.
What are you basing your fear of a brain tumor on?
Everything you have with the static and flecks of light I have had for years and I mean years, my eyes have been tested and they are fine. It's a common complaint amongst anxiety and I seem to notice it more when I'm tired
The spots of light are just firing off everywhere, would the ct have definately found a brain tumor if I had one
Do you mean these little sparks? - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_field_entoptic_phenomenon
They're totally normal as is visual snow. I also have both and I've had them for as long as I can remember.

Yes. Or it would have picked up something. Before I was diagnosed, they originally thought I had a stroke, based on what they seen on the ct. After a few mri's, I was diagnosed with a low grade brain tumour. If they did not see any abnormalities on your ct scan, you're fine.

Yes I have been able to see the blue field entoptic phenomenon for around 9 months without any effort, originally I could see in any colour sky, along with the mild static when looking at walls or in dim lit rooms & dark rooms . But it now seems to have had a major increase over the past few weeks, static now everywhere with like a shimmering effect and the light specks firing off alot, this effect I notice more just generally looking at a wall or ceiling.
I see the same but it is when my anxiety is high there is nothing wrong with my eyes nor do I have a head issue(some may beg to differ.lol).:D.

I suggest you listen to this member as someone going through having a brain tumour and Gadgirl who has lost someone to one. Any abnormalities on such scans get investigated and yours was fine.
I am very nervous and agitated at the moment and my vision is blurred and double, I guess it goes with the depression/anxiety.
If your tests are all good then you are OK....it's accepting that, that is the problem,
take care
