I wheeze when I cry and try to catch my breath. Does this mean I have asthma?

if you go to your gp they can do a very quick test and let you know

not making fun of you here I swear, but I make all manner of odd noises if I cry so maybe you`re just extremely upset and noticing every gasp, wheeze, or catching your breath. by nature when you`re crying you can do allsorts, including blowing snot bubbles, gasping, ears popping, you name it.

I hope you`re not crying too often and if you are worried then pop to your doctors.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm getting a lung function test next week and really nervous. I don't want asthma. It sounds scary and I just hope this is something that was lingering from my throat infection.

When I'm very upset, I cry, but I gasp for breath and wheeze when i breath in.

try not to worry, the basic test is to blow into a small cardboard tube as hard as you can to see how far you can make a small pointer go up a scale. past that it would be slightly more technical but again nothing to worry over.
there are counteless olympians and athletes who are asthmatic so try not to worry too much

You should go to the doctor

It more likely that the wheezing is caused by hyperventilating as you cry.
