Fear of proliferation!

I have a colonoscopy coming up in a few short weeks and the closer it gets the more anxious I become. It's not enough to worry about what the procedure may uncover, I just have to throw in the possibility of proliferation, as well. I just keep playing the two worst case scenarios over and over in my head.....the big C or proliferation. I'm definitely overreacting, aren't i?

What do you mean by proliferation?

When a hole is poked in the colon wall during the procedure. It's one of the risks the GI made me aware of. Now it's all I think about.

Oh you mean perforation - they are very very very rare.

I have had several colonoscopies and sigmoidoscopies over the years without problem and I don't know of anyone that has a problem either.

Oh! That is very good to hear. When the doctor told me about it I nearly canceled my procedure on the spot. Sorry for the mixed up terminology.
