Because I know that at some point during the journey and/or the stay I will experience an intense episode of retching.

Does this retching sound like a subconscious form of ritualistic OCD to you guys? It cannot be physical illness because I would be severely ill or have died by now, this symptom has been going on for 5 years and 2 months for Pete sake!!!!!!!!!

I think you have a complicated disorder that needs a specialist, not a GP.

It's clear that you have an obsessive component to your anxiety but that doesn't just mean OCD. I think you need someone to look at this who understands the difference between disorders that include Somatoform Disorders and that definitely isn't a GP.

I've just woken up and the first thing on my mind is "OK when am I going to experience my first retching episode? Do I have sweets on hand to chew on to supress the urge, do I have an escape route if I need to escape from a situation... etc, etc.

It's causing me depression and agoraphobia now as well...
