Photo profiles

Hi all,

Rain and I have had a good idea (hard to believe I know :D ). Rain said it would be nice to have a place where you could post your photos of house, pets etc. for NMP members to see. I think this is a really good idea because it builds up a better picture of who you're chatting to.

There are several websites that let you upload a certain number of photos for free per month. I use www.flickr.com (http://www.flickr.com) but there are others like pbase. I asked Nic if we could use these websites to post our photos and link to them from NMP. Nic thought it was a good idea (thanks for giving it the green light Nic) and said you can paste the link into your profile under the homepage heading. Then you can go onto the members profile or click on their name in any post and it will take you to their pics page.

Uploading photos is pretty straightforward on flickr. You need to set up an account (which is free) and then you upload files by browsing to the right place on your harddrive. The address you need to add to your profile is for the page where you can see all your photos (have a look at the link in my profile if you're not sure).

So there we go! I know a few members have already started to do this and it would be cool if it catches on.

You don't have to post a pic of yourself it you don't feel comfortable doing so. :) The great thing about Flickr is that you can post as and when you want. So if you wanted to start with a pic of your house that would be great but no pressure. :)

Hi,

You just need to search for your friends username in the search box but once you've found them you can add them to your contacts. I'm not sure if you can create a group of people, especially on the trial account, but you can create a list of favourite contacts.

Im so hopeless at this, but ive tried to upload a photo from my album on the computer to this thread, but its telling me it exceeds the size limit. Thing is, the program i have normally automatically reduces photo sizes if i attach them to emails, so now im confused as to why its not happening here. I knew how to reduce them myself using my old computer with XP, but now have Windows Vista and not sure how to do it...any ideas?

Hi there,
(The me me me me bit...hopefuly helps some of you you you :D , though reading it back it does sound bloody depressive)

I've had to deal with a host of friends and aquaintances viewing me as nothing less than perfection for alot of years.
To everyone else I'm the man that can...I doubt this is the reason for my panic, I think many people here will share a similar frame of thought, that they can't match others expectations...or anticipating others expectations.

There is so much I can do, and do so many things so easily when others find it hard, always able to help others and think really straight, to provide solutions to their problems that they use and make work so well.....yet I panic and have had anxiety and panic for alot of years.

Some people know, I do feel it makes me less of a person..in reality it just means i'm not the brilliant person others think I am.....but I never thought I was.

I get anxiety and panic to an extreme, for nothing...I'm closer to understanding why but it's still difficult and for wha seems like the most ridiculous reasons, I manage to push on through and get things done but it's tough, so so tough sometimes.

In the past 3 years I've had 6 very close family members die, father, grandfather, uncles aunties etc and have pulled through a burst apendix which caused peritonitis and septicemia (the surgeon said I was lucky...I asked if i'd won the lottery)

Now perhaps i've always analysed things too much and though plan for the worst but I think due to the events mentioned I'm finding every day a whole lot more effort than my physical and normal ability should.

Good Day Everyone!!
I'm new to this website and I'm so glad I found it. I have been suffering anxiety attacks for many years now. It goes away and comes back. This time around, it is really bad. In the past, the doctor gave me xanax and zoloft for 1 year. I,m now tired and I dwell on the same thing for hrs and days. What can I do to get over this hump? I' tired of feeling tired and gaining/losing weight. Is this normal?

worked out out in the end...me and my darling daughter a year ago and then my daughter now...x for anyone wondering how to add pic that you can see, what i did was post reply then in the box where you type, i clicked on the paper clip on top of bar, then attached a pic the when it was uploaded, i open the attached photo by clicking on it and it opened in a new window then i right clicked on the pic once it opened and copy then right clicked in the box where you write a post and pasted in the box... sounds hard good luck x

I would definitely take it further hun, u are better than many who got through to the finals this year, so you go for it hun, I would say I would be there to support you but well not gonna make promises I cant keep but I would vote for you for sure. Gary 2.0 I have to say I love ur profile pic, it is obviously a your version of the Scream by Edvard Munch, but its excellent. I have on many occasions wanted to do a pic of myself in a similar way, but I am no artist, so its not happened, but I love that picture, It just sums up how I feel sometimes and I do have a tendancy to use it as my profile picture on Facebook on the occasions I go on there when I am feeling bad. If you are the artist Gary, there is a pic of me a couple of posts b4 yours, I am the one with the long curly hair and my room is a total mess lol!! So if you could paint my head on the body, oh and turn it into a female of course I would be forever in your debt!!!!
