I had my second session of hypnotherapy today but I didn't seem to really relax. I had a huge panic tonight that the hypnotherapist wasn't properly qualified and I felt very vulnerable. How do I know if the therapist is fully qualified - she is a member of "The British Institute of Hypnotherapists". I panic and think that nothing ever helps and that I waste my money.
Does anyone else ever worry about feeling vulnerable in this way.

She will be qualified then.

I am the opposite and trust anyone that says they can cure me!

Hi Serena

In agree the therapist will be qualified if she is on the Register.

I personally found hypnotherapy very helpful.

Perhaps you could explain your worries to her at your next appointment to discuss how you can feel more comfortable.

:hugs: I was fine on the first session. I get confused because there seem to be so many different registers and this isn't the one recommended in your info.
Ps This website is fantastic, I've learnt so many, many things that I never understood before about my panic!!Thanks!!!! :byebye:

I had about 10 sessions but really struggled to relax too. Does yours make a tape/CD of your session? Mine did so I used to do that at home everynight ( and then be so relaxed I'd fall asleep!)
