Red streaks at back of throat

I've had a bit of an achy throat the past couple weeks, comes and goes. No other symptoms at all.

I took a look in my throat and on the left side (not at the very back of the throat, slight in front of it where my tonsils used to be) I can see a red streak. Nothing like that on the other side.

It's making me quite a bit nervous so if anyone has any suggestions or if I'm freaking out over nothing, any advice is appreciated.

Have you had a cold, post nasal drip? That can cause a sore throat.

It's not a sore throat, just feels achy from time to time. It's not constant. And yes a bit of post nasal drip - my nose has been congested on and off year round for the past 5 years because of my deviated septum.

But the achy throat really isn't my worry, it's the red streak. I just worry it's something malicious, which in reality I know it's probably not.

Also I'm 23 years old.
