I'm having symptoms similar to hyperglycemia, constant hunger, weakness, shaky etc but I'm not diabetic as far as I know, does anxiety cause this?

it certainly can do, if you get very anxious and the adrenaline starts to flow you can feel very very uneasy and weak in no time at all. Try to eat regularly and avoid sugar spikes ie don`t load up on sweet things because you`ll have a drop in no time.
I also used to feel like this if I was lacking sleep so maybe have a look at that too?
and hangovers of course, when your sugars drop you can get similar symptoms

good luck, hope things get easier for you soon

As Bruce says it's entirely possible to experience this without being diabetic. When my anxiety was at it's worst I had episodes of weakness and trembling and feeling a bit spaced out on a daily basis and if I wasn't at home, had to find somewhere to sit down until it passed. As a woman I always put it down to perhaps a hormone thing, but men can suffer too, so as Bruce says there can be different reasons for it happening. I don't get this too much these days though, as my anxiety levels are not so high now.
