View Full Version : 'Tinkling' abdomen sounds?

So, I heard tinkling sounds were a classic sound of intestinal obstruction. Every so often (before wider stomach noises) my upper right abdomen makes what I think is a 'tinkling' sound. It is very brief (less than a second or two) and sounds like someone gently pulled something over a xylophone. Does anyone know if this is what is meant by 'tinkling?'

If you had an abdominal obstruction you wouldn’t be hyper-focusing on “tinkling sounds”, whatever those are. You’d be doubled over in pain and in emergency. I know, I’ve been there.

You don’t have an obstruction. You’re hyperfocused on your body, which is doing normal things that bodies do.
