Hi

Ive been suffering for 9 years now :weep:

Ive had enough, medication from my GP doesnt help, nor does CBT.

I asked my GP to refer me to the mental health team.

I have an appointment on Wednesday to see a social worker. I suppose if Im deemed needing to see a psychiatrist, she will refer me on.

Does anyone have any idea how long this will take. Can she prescribe?

Im having trouble getting out of the house, feeling so dizzy. Im having a constant racing heart, ectopics heartbeats and I just feel so bad I cant really explain it.

TBH, Im surprised I woke up today - I had the racing heart and ectopics in bed last night. I thought my heart would just give out.

Does anyone else go to bed thinking that tomorrow is another day and everything will be OK, when infact, it is just groundhog and exactly the same.

If I didnt have my kids, I dont think Id be here anymore - although Im petrified of death.

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow, its very sad that you have suffored for such a long time without the help you need.

Your children are an amazing gift to you, enjoy every day with them, make them laugh everyday and you'll laugh too, they are your ticket to happiness. Try to change one thing you do today, even if its just doing your hair differently, try something else tomorrow, breaks the groundhog feeling.

The psychiatrist is a specialist so has access to many meds your GP doesn't. They can prescribe, write to your GP to recommend, etc.

And yes, groundhog day is exactly what a lot of my time with anxiety has been like. With the later OCD that came this became much harder to deal with and years of my life have effectively been put on hold due to the inertia is has caused.
