I also have anxiety constantly, and I wake up in panic, too. It's quite common, I think.

Hi Rodds,

I wake up most nights having a panic attack and I'm lucky if I get away with just the one! I also have anxiety dreams and just before I wake up with the attack, the dream takes a sinister dive. I've been at a high level of anxiety for so long now that my body is sensitized so when I am asleep, the slightest noise (ie OH snoring) is enough to trigger an attack. Nighttime panic attacks are quite common.

My anxiety / panic attacks are usually worse at night. It’s exasperating: our beds should be a place of safety, peace and sanctity. Instead we get attacked in the night by our malfunctioning amygdalae, coming after us like a cut-rate Freddy Krueger, not even a pithy one-liner for our troubles.

Haha I like that analogy!
