been taking citalopram for 5 days can anybody tell me how long they take to work.

Hi , it varies for differnt people it can take weeks or months , they may not have warned you and I don't want to scare you but they can make you worse to start with , it's better to know so you know what to expect , hope they work for you and soon , take care .

I was told 4 to 6 weeks but I came off them because the side effects (for me) were too severe. They are beneficial for a lot of people though and everybody is different in how their body tolerates them but I'd expect a few side effects in the first few weeks.
