Hello,

I recently got a bagel and looked at it midway through eating it, and found red marks on the bagel. It looked like dried blood. I tried to eat around it, but seems like I ate the piece with the red marks on it.

Tried to test if it came from me but dont see any bleeding.

Am i at risk for HIV?

No. Science has proved that HIV is not transmitted that way.

What PV said. But also I'd be thinking something like beetroot before I thought blood!

The chances, that it was actual blood, are almost non existant. What would it be doing there? That would have to be very unclucky coincidence. And no, HIV doesnt transmit like this. So even if it was blood, it would only be gross, not dangerous.

HIV is not transmitted in this manner. HIV is a very fragile virus, and needs quite a lot good fortune to actually be spread. That is why I have read that even having unprotected intercourse has about a 1 in 1000 chance of happening. There are a lot of variables in play when it come to transmission.

Unless it was a chicken bagel. In which case it would be very clucky.
