I went to tie my shoe and after I was done finger started hurt like I had been tugging or pulling on something for a long period of time. Then after that when I was tearing off the paper from my new shower curtain my finger started getting this burning sensation that I couldn't use that finger. I had to stop and switch hands. The burning randomly came out of nowhere. What did I do? Did I sprain my finger or something? It's not swollen or red.

Sounds like it could be a tendon. This happens to me too, with the joint nearest to the nail on the index finger of my right hand, the tendon has a habit of shifting out place a little, and although harmless can be really painful, with the burning you describe. Tendons are like elastic bands that run across the top of the finger joints and help the fingers (and toes) to bend. Sometimes they can slip a little out of place and this is what the pain and burning is.
