Im in europe and there have been lots of 'warnings' to be vigilant of terrorism- we have already seen several attacks but im so worried about socialising and going out where there will be crowds as we know terrorism tends to increase around the festive season...does anyone sympathise?

Well they plan to do more around the festive period- whether they manage to carry the plots out is different

Says who? Who told you that?

Not one single terrorist attack in the UK over the festive season in my lifetime. I don't know how people believe this stuff.

By the way I am not slating the original poster, I am just stating that people need to stop falling for this culture of fear that the media and powers that be generate.

So are you scared of the plans or the actual occurances? :D

A great way to beat worry?

Get ALL of the facts. Not just the ones that fuel your fear.

No, not really. Anyway, you're in the UK, and it seems to me your guys have everything under control insofar it is at all possible. That said, one could want to avoid crowds for all sorts of other reasons, I hate travelling on the tube in a cramped up space where you don't even know whether it's your own phone or the neighbours's phone ringing when you feel this buzz in your pocket, people standing so close the phone might just as well be in their pocket, and you cannot think of anything but how similar this must feel to being inside a Japanese tube train.

For years these terrorists have been targeting more important places where there are a lot of the public about. We've been having the warnings for years about this but it's just a "be vigilant" kind of thing because our governments want everything to be business as usual and they put a hell of a lot of money & effort into collaborating with each other to prevent them even happening.

We hear about some they stop, but unless they tell us they will be stopping things all the time because that's what they are paid to do and do it quietly so we can carry on with our lives.

So, an event like Wimbledon, Xmas in London at shows or big shopping centres, etc or the remembrance shows that were attended by the royal family, they are potential targets for nutjobs like these terrorists. Inline wit this, national security is upgraded to keep our lives ticking along as they should be.

And something else to consider - they want us to feel scared. So, they throw out bogus threats it disrupt our way of life. That's why we all always say to not let them win and go about your life as normal. There are always times where we are in the wrong place at the wrong time and we can only do so much to stay safe but in reality, we are far more likely to be harmed by one of our own citizens than these loonies.

If you are in Europe, listen to what the government & police are telling you. If they are saying be vigilant but go about your life as normal, that's all you need to know. If they tell you to stay indoors, you know something is serious and you should comply until they agree the possible threat has passed.
