Hi, I recently had a uti which came back showing a bug called ecoli. I had one episode of cystitis two months ago but no urine culture was done then just a dip which only showed very small change in leukocytes. So the two things must have been connected I guess. Just finished a course of cipro for 10 days which i hope has cleared the infection but I feel extremely nervous in case it returns as I have seen can happen. I fear all the obvious problems....having an untreatable infection...ending up in hospital with kidney infection....etc. I had a cystoscopy done to rule out cancer as |I had blood in urine and have insurance. That showed a narrow urethra and I have been advised to have a dilation to widen it which may stop the infections. Anybody else have experience of any of the above? Am worrying all the time and not sure if i should rush into the op or see how things go. Thanks.
