For the last week or so when I am in bed trying to sleep, I feel as though I can't breathe through my nose at all but I don't have a blocked nose, but I'm struggling to breathe through it like I normally do, also I've noticed when my arm is resting over my ribs(sleeping on side) it feels like there's pressure in my lungs and I can't breathe, as soon as I move my arm off my ribs it feels better?

It's a strange feeling, like my throat has closed up and my lungs are full with water so to speak. Could this all be anxiety related, as I don't seem to have it during the day, I do get the odd tight throat feeling though x

I always feel more "pressure" on my lungs when I sleep on my back, I think your arm thing while sleeping on your side is adding some pressure. Do you have asthma? A cough or chest cold in the past few months?

I had a chest cold a couple months ago and it cleared but every night still I feel a little resistance when going to bed. Like there is still some congestion down there that I only feel when I lay down.

I have been saying for a while that i feel like I'm getting a cold buts it's not actually happening, no cough, no nose problems ect but I notice at night it feels difficult to breathe as though there's pressure so maybe that's what it is

Thanks!

I've been feeling breathless in the evenings and at bedtime too. I thought it might be a cold that had stayed on my chest even though I didn't really have any cold symptoms. I also think the change is weather - cold damp air , can affect breathing too.
I think anxiety 100% makes it worse and you focus on it.
Distraction is the best thing for this - I listen to classical music just before I go to sleep x
