I just finished Gilmore Girls and am watching Parks and Rec

Other shows I've found to be helpful:
30 Rock
United States of Tara
Freaks and Geeks

What shows keep your mind occupied?

I like Shameless, though admittedly, it can get kind of dark on occasion. But if you like dark humor, it can be pretty fun.

A few years back when I was really struggling emotionally, binge watching Doctor Who was a huge part of what got me through it.

Sadly it doesn't seem to be working this time around for me.

Yes the United States of Tara was good. But ended prematurely :(
Parks and rec
The office (U.K. And USA)
Derek
Idiot abroad
Moaning of life
Wentworth
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
OITNB
Friends
Breaking bad
Switched at birth
The walking dead
Sherlock

Some others that I havent watched but are said to be very good:
Stranger things
Gilmore girls
Mr robot

Out of all of them, "friends" is probably my favorite for pulling the mind out of dark places. There isn't any crazy storyline to follow and it's just a generally positive show showcasing a long-term friendship between 6 people.

I just finished binge watching Nurse Jackie - it's a Showtime show but also on Netflix.

Cant believe I didn't list that one! Yes, "nurse Jackie" was awesome!! Definitely a fave of mine. And the nurse from there shows up to play a nurse in TWD.

Another good one is Modern Family.

I can tell you what not to watch... True Detective Season 1. Incredible show, but at the height of my anxiety it messed me up.

I need to watch it again, but I think it might be a trigger!

What not to watch! That should be another thread... I will start that!

Thanks everyone for the responses... I hope we get more!

Hey,

Game of thrones got me through the worst the first time round. This time it was the strain and dexter. Just started orange is the new black too.

Think everyone's covered most of the bet ones. Will just add a couple of new series:
Exorcist and Lethal weapon

I love American sitcoms such as Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, Frasier and Everybody Hates Chris.
Also Walking Dead
Humans is pretty good
Charmed (when it used to come on E4 I used to always switch it off saying it's pathetic but now I really like it).
The Simpson and my geeky side likes Futurama too.
