How can I face Christmas?

I am in the middle of investigation for post menopausal bleed as I have posted about on here.But now I am waiting on a pap test result and possible vaginal scan which dreading as had one before to see if I have Cancer etc.
How do I get through Christmas with all this on my mind? I don't want to spoil everyone else's Christmas but to me it's all a blur now and I cannot begin to enjoy it.

I'm dealing with a similar situation with my wife. She's due for major surgery on the 27th to remove her thymus gland and the tumor attached. Our lives have been a nightmare since September (fortunately, she doesn't remember any of it).

So... how am I coping? Take away the commercialism and hub hub, Christmas and New Year are just another day on the calendar. Due to all the appointments and having to care for my wife, I've just not going to worry about it. Yes, I still picked up a couple of things for her and I sent gifts to my kids but we've not decorated or made a fuss about it. It's one day at a time until we get through it. To me, it's about surviving the hurricane that is our lives right now.

So how do you face it? You just do (what other choice is there?)... One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. Enjoy the moment and be thankful for the blessings in your life. The rest is just chasing the wind.
