Smoker worried about tumor in left side of body.

Hello,

I am 25 years of age and i have been smoking for 6 years, around 1 and half years ago I noticed a small lump on the right side of my body, at that point of time I didn't give it much thought. Now for some reason I am having an anxiety attack about cancer, I have put on weight in the past few months (conscious effort). I have quit smoking for the past 1 week due to this.

Please tell me this lump isn't cancer? I do have back and shoulder pains sometimes. P.S I have a scan scheduled in a month just in case :(

First off, good going on quitting. You've done yourself a HUGE favor!

Secondly... Of the tens of thousands of posts and cancer fears I've read about, I know of only 2 that actually realized their fears and both are fine. So, IMO, you'll be just another of those tens of thousands that are perfectly fine ;)
