I'm feeling more relaxed after my appointment today. Saw the path report for the "severely atypical" mole and it specifically said something about features diagnostic for melanoma "are not present." So that was great to read.
He took the mole off the side of my boob and said he would be "very surprised" if it came back as anything bad. He said that with skin there are no guarantees and things can surprise you but that he didn't expect anything remarkable.
The "severe" one was re-scraped to take more but the path report didn't even recommend wide excision, so no stitches but they'll biopsy what he took today for good measure.
He also said that melanoma risk goes up when you've had six or more severely atypical moles. So far I have only had one, knock on wood.
So, I'm waiting on some more results but all in all it was an encouraging appointment.
