Hi,

It's common for people to have heart palpitations during periods of anxiety, or panic attacks (as I've experienced both), but is it common to have heart palpitations during periods when no anxiety seems present?

It's seems to be a symptom that's been bothering me for a couple of weeks now, even when I'm at ease (or even as I'm on the edge of falling asleep)- but I am wondering if it might be related to something other than anxiety?

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Even though you feel you are resting subconsciously you are still body scanning xx

Anxiety is like a campfire. When you're in the midst of a spiral the fire is burning bright and hot. When the flames die down, there's still a bed of red hot coals burning away just waiting for some more fuel. Your body is still on high alert and has a bed of hot anxiety coals inside just waiting to flare up. Just like a campfire, the hot coals of anxiety take a long time to finally go out.
