Upping Dosage of Citalopram

Hi everyone,
Thank you for reading my post first of all.
I currently take 20mg citalopram daily for mild anxiety & low mood. So far it has been working quite well but recently I've noticed a reduction in it's effectiveness. I have had quite a hard few months with personal life and work life so I was thinking of going to my doctor and asking to up the dosage to 30mg?
I have an appointment for later today but just wanted some feedback from others who have similar experience...

Hi Niffler. I was originally on I think 40mg of Citalopram and I did drop to 20mg a few years ago, but found I still had a few reurrances. I've now gone back up to 40mg. Upping the dose may give you a few days of a dikkie tummy, but the positive effect should only be a few days rather than 4 weeks when you first take them. Best of luck
