Hi all 😀 For almost a year, I have had a multitude of stressors in my life (lost job, financial issues, family health issues, etc) and for the first time I really felt what panic and anxiety can do to you. Before, I had had a panic attack here and there, but it is nothing like what I am dealing with now.

Right now, here is my main issue that is causing me health anxiety.

Basically, it was all triggered in November when one morning I was drinking a lot of liquid and, hence, had to go to the bathroom quite a lot in a short period of time. Before, I don't believe this would of bothered me, but for some reason it has stuck. Ever since then I have been obsessed with my urinary habits and believing there is something wrong with me.

I went to the doctor and was prescribed Zoloft a few weeks back for my anxiety and I was clean with my urinalysis and my check up went fine. I have no pain or blood and diabetes was negative. She wants to see how things go after I have been on the meds a bit and go from there with my next steps. I have my first appt with a behavioral medicine specialist on Monday.

Basically, I am all consumed with peeing and when my anxiety is high I get the urge very often. Sometimes I can go 2 hours in peace, but other times I can barely make an hour or less without having the urge to go. I know stress and anxiety that is constant like I have now can create this symptom, but it is hard for me to accept. Also, it doesn't help that my anxiety has my appetite all screwed up and sometimes I can only drink juice or ensure.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Any advice? Words of wisdom?

This has happened to me from time to time. I also pee cloudy sometimes but I had a clear colonscopy not long ago.

If you notice brown or red then you have a problem or if it burns when leading usually mean urineary track infection. Which is rarer in men. More common in females.

Anxiety and frequent urination

Yep.

(when your muscles are tense, your bladder will not empty completely. hence the *frequent* urination.) Been there, done that.

Ugh, not fun! Haha

Nice to meet you both and thanks for the replies.

Letting go and just accepting has been hard for me. Ever had appetite issues? Any tips to not whither away lol.

When my anxiety is bad I lose pretty much all my appetite. I never feel hungry and when I did eat I felt full fast. When my anxiety is not as bad I can cram down some food like the old days.

Did you go to the doctor in November when you had that first episode of frequent urination? If you didn't then maybe you had a UTI that cleared up before your urine was tested.

Frequent urination and appetite issues ....Check and Check.

Part and parcel of the whole anxiety gig....:weep:

Darn. Two things that ruin your daily enjoyment even more lol. I used to have a mean appetite. Now I just have points in time where I suddenly feel hungry and I have to go with it before it passes.

So basically I need to tame the anxiety to get control back.
But for whatever reason it is harder for me to accept the peeing part more than anything else.

Oh, and the urinalysis was clean a few weeks ago. So who knows...

I'm not so bad during the day...but if I'm highly anxious I swear I'm on the toilet every 20 minutes, sometimes less time in between. Seems worse at night...I can go about 5-6 times before I can feel like I'm ok to lie down and go to sleep. I feel your pain...although I think of it as extra steps for the day ;)

Extra steps huh? That is a good way of looking at it hehe. I definitely need to reframe my response to it. It is just so awkward to have these urges from the tension so much.

It's a very common anxiety symptom (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/articles/symptoms#Kidneys_urgency_to_urinate_frequent_urina tion_sudden_urge_to_go_to_the_toilet) and a natural response to perceived threatening situations (fight or flight) and anxiety,
