Hi guys,

My brother is 33yrs old. He had bad blood results twice over 3 months. The wbc was first 12.1 then 14.1 and ESR was 37 and now 50. He is a hypochondriac, has always been and is complaining about chills and feeling tired. He had no weight loss. What could it be? His doc sent him to a specialist, but isn't much concerned.

If he's a hypochondriac, then random guesses from a bunch of strangers online as to what's up with him is probably the worst thing for him.

Wait until he sees the specialist.

Agree. Just wanted to know if someone experienced this and it was nothing terminal.

Yes, my wbc and ESR were higher and I had super fast weight loss and I'm still alive ;)

Great you are still alive, do you mind quoting how high please?

ESR over 100 and wbc not sure but high. ESR is just an indication of inflammation which results from immune response and there are hundreds of non terminal Inflammatory conditions.

My bro went to a specialist, who wasn't much concerned but ordered more blood tests, a chest x-ray and whilst at hospital my bro was informed he needed a cat scan too. Why is this if doc did not seem worried, now he is a wreck and I am soon going to be one too!

Please rest assured that the doctor is following routine tests.
