Hi all,

Ive had the annual flu bug which has largely gone, and my pulse was returning to normal. I went back to work yesterday and had quite a big lunch. My pulse zipped up to 108bpm and stayed there pretty much all day.

I went to urgent care and they did an ECG and Chest X-ray. Came back normal.

But why has my pulse gone up all of a sudden when im starting to feel better? Im still coughing flem but doc didnt think i needed anti biotics.

It did come back down to low 80's but now back up to the 100bpm mark.

Any advice much appreciated? Stressing me out no end!:weep:

Stressing me out no end!

Stress causes a higher heart-rate than normal. 108 isn't high, its just elevated.

Cortisol in your system from stress. Adrenalin.

Big lunch....

Normal

Being that "normal" is between 60-100, as SLA said... based on your anxiety level and the fact that it came down, there's no reason for concern.

108 isn't fast at all. That's like the speed of it when you go on a brisk walk. I used to box and my heart would get up around 190 bpm.
