I have this whooshing in my left ear that seems to happen as I tilt my head to my right shoulder. It's somewhat pulsatile but mostly just sounds like something whooshing through the ear constantly. It seems to go away as I tilt my head to my left shoulder. What can this be?

water in the ear?

like when you bend over after swimming and get that woosh of water?

Just a guess

I've learnt a new word. :) Very occasionally, when out walking, I get pulsatile whooshing too! It lasts about a minute. First I thought it was a train going past, next time I thought no, it's heart beat, next time I thought no, it was due to jots caused by walking, next time... I've got no idea, lets be honest. :)

OK, I admit it, I just Googled it - it's blood in a vein going past the ear!

I have constant hissing and whooshing in my ears. It's happening right now, in fact. It's annoying...but I usually listen to something with my headphones and that covers it up. I tend to get fluid behind my eardrums, so that might be why. The doctor wasn't concerned. Said I had tinnitus.
