Saw my GP today for some test results. I told her I've been having palpitations and I had an ecg that was fine. She said she thinks she can hear a soft heart murmur and wants me to see a Cardiologist to have an ultrasound.

I was not expecting this and I'm terrified! And worried I'll drop dead before I see cardiologist 😞

She thinks she can hear something so she is getting you checked out. Better than not knowing, right?

A soft murmur obviously is not an urgent issue that needs addressing otherwise you'd have been whisked off to hospital.

If it is? No biggie... millions of people have that. Most are congenital and have been there since birth. If it hasn't killed you since then, it's not going to kill you before you get it checked out and won't do so in the future either. It's just one of those things they'll make note of and check every once in a while ;)

Both me and my sister have heart murmurs and they aren't very concerning, she just want to check it out to make sure x

All the best :hugs:

I understand that they can be harmless. I guess it's because I'm 38 and I've never had one before that I'm concerned.
