I had a home assessment with ATOS 2 weeks ago for PIP and received a letter this morning telling me I won't be getting it and my DLA will end in 4 weeks.

I was also supposed to go to another assessment for ESA yesterday in Marylebone, they wouldn't give me a home assessment because they weren't content with my what my GP sent them. I assume my ESA will be stopped soon so am going to be left with nothing very soon.

What am I supposed to do now? I don't have the energy to go through the bullshit of an appeal that will probably fail, today will be the start of weaning myself of the meds I have to take because I can't afford to pay for any of it.

You can appeal against it. Do you have a specialist other than your gp have you been diagnoised any conditions?? I would seek advice from CAB too I am sorry and feel for you :) Cheers

This angers me so much! It angers me that the DWP can make decisions on a persons well being and neglect any evidence that real healthcare professionals provide them.

I have been on ESA for a while. I have physiology reports, doctors letters, letters from my old healthcare professionals when I was under the care of the community. I have Aspergers syndrome which makes things even worse.

Yet, they don't want to acknowledge any of this. Apparently I should be able to attend the assessment and they know best.

My advice is to appeal sooner rather than later. Also make a complaint. Speak with your doctor.

This happened to me once and I went into a meltdown. I ended up getting sectioned for things I don't want to discuss on here incase they are triggers. After that they seen how bad I was and I never had any assessment.

Horrible people! They act like the enemy.

Hi Yeah can understand that had many dealings with the DSS on this my DSA was very kind and helpful too it's just these silly pointless interviews/assesments they make you go on  As for your meltdown I feel for you, hope you are ok now :) No that's fine and yes they could well be triggers :) Cheers

Yeah the depression has cleared up. It was a bad time in my life. I don't really feel like that anymore. I agree, the interviews are silly. They use them to try and catch people out, and in the process those who are genuinely not well have to go through the same process.

Hey guys, thanks for the input, I'm still unsure as to what's happening regarding ESA. I didn't go to the assessment for ESA that I was supposed to go to on 22nd Feb, on the 20th Feb I got a letter from the DWP saying I was being moved into the support group, however I was already in the support group so no idea what that was about. I then received a letter on 15 March that says the amount they pay me will go up by 50p a week due to a change in money coming in. Money is still being paid to me like usual and has been since I missed the appointment so at the moment I've got no idea whether the money will stop in the near future. Again thanks for the input guys, have a good day.

Hey sounds like because they said you were being moved to the support group (which you are already in,which they should have known about Doh lol) you wont need to go for a assement so money will still be paid as normal, there should be payement dates on the letter you received recently I wouldn't worry till another letter arrives from the DWP ;) All is good relax!
