So we all know if we have bad thoughts, they reoccur when we have OCD just like a record player. So, I'm reaching out to my fellow friends on here... When you have a bad thought in your mind, what words do you use to block these thoughts?

Does saying them out loud help? Does saying them over and over help you?

Let me know your strategies so I can use them in my everyday life to remove my thoughts. Thanks have a great day! Thanks for reading!

I remember doing the "it's not me, it's my OCD". It helped but it may have been a reassurance thing, compulsive activity. I didn't do it much though.

After learning more about OCD I went down the Mindfulness path, worked on extinction, etc. Therefore I don't believe in thought blocking, I believe in pulling the rug from under it all, undermine it's power, change the subconscious through starvation of reaction. I did some positive reaction work in CBT like with Thought Records & re framing too.
