Karina tragically lost her beloved daughter Rebel earlier on this month. She has asked me to pass on this news to all those who supported her through Rebel's courageous battle against her devastating illness over the past few months.
She thanks you all for your support and kind words.
Life can be very cruel and unjust.
My very deepest sympathies to you, Karina at this truly awful time xxxxxxx

You are a brave and incredible lady and you are very much in my thoughts.

I know that words on a screen are never enough but I just hope as many people as possible on NMP can contribute to this thread out of respect for Karina and for her brave Rebel.
Sometimes it's hard to find the right words to say...I am thinking of you Karina and of your family. It's sometimes hard to understand why things happen. Rebel will be safe in the arms of her father. If there is anything at all we can do to help you at this time, please know that we are here. In my thoughts Karina...your strength and the love in your heart will help you at this time. I have to say Pulisa that it is truly heartbreaking news.
I am devastated for Karina and in my eyes, Karina could do no more than she did.

how absolutely heartbreaking. poor poor flipp and her family.
it sounded like Rebel was a real fighter just like her mum.
I hope they find strength in each other at this horrid time xx
i really hope more can be done to fight this awful disease.

I hope you have lots of support around you and to help your children too to come to terms somehow with the loss of Rebel.
I don't know what you believe in, or whether you even still can after the loss of your husband let alone the further tragedy of your dear daughter, but I like to think she is at peace reunited with her dad and watching over their loving family until you are all back together.
She couldn't have had a more loving fighter of a mum. Please try to remember you did all you could for her. You held your family together in testament to your great strength when their father was so tragically taken from you all. You are one tough lady.
We are all here for you whenever you need us. Whether that is for comfort & support, distraction from your pain or to shout & scream at the terrible unfairness that people like you go through when many of us like me are so lucky not to experience such tragic times.

No one can know the pain from the loss of a child unless they have gone through it themselves. I certainly can't imagine it. But this I know...it doesn't get any tougher than that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Karina as you go through this very sad period.

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. I don't know you but my sincere condolences, such a great loss and I can't even think what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this heart breaking time.
I've just read this and am devastated for you Flipp. What dreadful news, I can't even begin to comprehend. There really are no words but I'd just like you to know this stranger is thinking of you and I'm truly sorry for what you have went through.
I hope you somehow manage to find the strength to come through the other side. You have had more than your fair share of tragedies. You seem a very strong woman, however I know that will mean nothing to you right now.
Reading this post sent a shiver through my spine, it was a post I'm sure many on here were hoping would never come. I'm so sorry, for you all and your darling Rebel.

Thank you so much everyone for your warm and heartfelt messages for Karina. Obviously things are still very raw for her but in time I'm sure she will be able to look at this thread and hopefully draw some comfort from knowing that so many people are so deeply affected by the news of Rebel's passing.
"Comfort" is the wrong word-is there a"right" one for something so tragic? I don't think so. They are more than just words on an online forum though-they are messages from people who truly care and want to offer whatever support they can to someone suffering so much.

Even though I'm an atheist I believe wholeheartedly in heaven (not that pearly gates nonsense) and I agree with Terry that of course Rebel is being lovingly looked after by her dad, who is sadly also up there.
