It's caused by your teeth pressing on the tongue. Very common.

Yeah, looks like mine when I am stressed. I press my tongue into my teeth and it does that.

Is there any way I can stop it, it's currently so sore I must be biting it in my sleep? Wondering if a mouth guard might help :(

A mouth guard may help. I suggest visiting your dentist for a professional opinion.

Also, try drinking more water! Sometimes dehydration could make your tongue a bit bigger and push against your teeth. It's very very common and not dangerous on its own!

What PAS said. I had this a couple of months ago in my biggest flair. I was convinced my body was shutting down. Doctor told me my mouth was dry. I don't have the scalloping anymore since my anxiety is semi under control.

Try and relax, keep your fluids up? Are you on anti-depressants? These can cause jaw clenching as well as anxiety

Yes I'm on 20mg citalopram, but I did notice it before I started taking it, I first noticed it maybe about a year ago! Although this was when my anxiety was at it's highest!

Yes, I have this too and have had it for many years, it comes and goes with my anxiety. I think it's to do with clenching my jaws in my sleep.

Mine too, panicked at first then realised when I am anxious or stressed I really press my tongue against my teeth, still do ! x
