View Full Version : A small victory

I wanted to share a small victory I've won over my anxiety this past week.

I suffer from hypochondria, and my biggest trigger over these past few months has been vitreous floaters. I'm severely myopic and at risk for retinal detachment, so I developed some obsessive-compulsive behavior with respect to tracking the size and number of floaters in both my right and left eye (surprise surprise: they haven't changed at all).

This week, I randomly decided to order a relatively cheap pair of polarized sunglasses on Amazon, after having remembered an online comment that mentioned they helped ignore floaters.

I've been using them for several days now, and almost all of my floater anxiety has dissipated. And when I feel it creeping back in, I can slap them on and ignore my floaters for hours. I didn't realize how much a $10 pair of shades could help. And they look pretty hip too.
