I had a kidney stone a couple of weeks ago and went into the ER (thinking I was dying) and they did an abdominal CT scan. Incidental to this, I have an appointment with a GI doc for IBS/functional disorder next week. Of course, I'm actually secretly afraid they'll discover colon cancer or something equally awful.

My question is, some sort of deadly stage four colon cancer would've shown up on the abdominal CT right?

Yeah I figured so. Those of you who have dealt with gastroenterologists, do you think it would be worth trying to get a hold of the CT scans/report for the appointment? It's a slight hassle but if the doc would find them useful, I'm willing.

edit: actually just went a head and called the gastro, they said "Sure, those would be helpful" and are going to request them themselves. So that'll save me some time and five bucks.

Where I live the specialists ask for all of your test results upfront. You only have to fill out one paper and everything goes straight to them.
