 Hi everyone! I just joined today so i'd like to introduce myself. My name is Lisa and i'm 35 years old. I have suffered from Anxiety/panic attacks for most om my life but over the years have just learned to cope! but just recently whilst going to my local shop, for the first time in years, i had a full blown panic attack. That was a few weeks ago now, but since then, i rarely leave the house because every time i do go out....WHAM, another one!.

I have been on Venlafaxine for quite a few years now, and have spoken to CPN's etc, but alas, here i am, right back at square one again.

I have an 8 year old son and i really, really want to get better for him as well as myself but i'm kinda in limbo at the moment, not knowing what directing i'm going in next!

Any advice, VERY welcome

Lisa

Hi and welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of help and support here.

It may well be that the medication has 'pooped out', i.e. has stopped working for you. Sometimes changes are needed in a crisis. Have you been to see your GP? Is he/she helpful? Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on.

Hi..
Really relate to you right now.
I think Jo is right, you need to speak to your doctor about changing or upping your current med.
Children are a good incentive for getting better, i too have an 8 year old son and sadly he only knows mummy as this way. I wish there was a magic wand to make it all okay.

Hello Lisa, big :welcome:to you!

Please don't think you're back at square one - I'd rather think you're just 'side stepping' for a bit !!

I was flabergasted when I had an 'episode' after I finished medication - I thought I'd left it all behind. But now and again I have a bit of a 'reminder' !!

We must guard against thinking we're back where we started.

You'll find lots of support and help here with these luvly people!!
